8.7/10 stinky bananas
A great war movie. A unique take on the war movie genre as you get an inside look at a unit of tank operating soldiers. Another great war movie comes another great cast. Brad Pitt, Jon Bernthal, Michael Pena, and Shia LaBeouf all turn in great performances, especially Shia. Outside of Stanley Yelnats, this is my favourite Shia role. For some reason that I can't quite pinpoint, he is magnetic in this one. Maybe it's the moustache.
Seeing the inner workings of a tank in WW2 is quite the sight to see. The tank vs tank battles are even better, way more exhilarating than you might think. The final battle is one of the all time greats as the tank crew attempt to hold the crossroads (without the full capabilities of the tank). They only delay the inevitable as they get picked off one by one, but they sure as hell bring a whole bunch of the Nazis down with them.
I could have done without the German house scene, it did not add value to the movie in my eyes. Other than that I do not have any other complaints about the movie, which is a damn good endorsement if you ask me.
Best job I've ever had.
