8.7/10 stinky bananas
Daniel Craig starts his Bond run off with a bang. Great movie from start to finish.
The opening chase down with the burnt face guy is an excellent scene. The burnt face guy might be the greatest athlete in the history of movies. Hardcore Parkour baby! Also I love a good gun catch, extremely badass. Imagine throwing a gun at somebody as hard as you can, and they just catch it. How dumb would you feel? The answer is extremely dumb.
The terminal fight and Bond getting poisoned felt like classic Bond scenes. And Craig pulled each one off without a hitch.
Side note: I know you aren’t supposed to start sentences with “And” but I don’t care. What old fart made that rule anyway? English is a dumb language.
Now… time for the crown jewel. Bond getting his dick and balls obliterated by Mads Mikkelsen. Unbelievably great scene, maybe my favorite Bond moment ever. Daniel Craig maniacally laughing and saying “the whole world will know you scratched my balls” is an all time funny line in the midst of one of the most gut wrenching torture scenes. I love it.
My only gripe with this movie is that it went 20 minutes too long. I don’t know why they didn’t just end the movie after Mads gets shot in the face.
If anybody had questioned the casting of Daniel Craig as James Bond, then this movie certainly put any of those concerns to bed. Must watch movie for people that like the Bond franchise.
