8.5/10 stinky bananas
Pretty damn good. Classic Fast and Furious fun. It has everything you have come to expect in this franchise. Good writing, good action, good soundtrack, cool cars. What else do you need?
Here’s what made the highlight reel:
The opening Wiz Khalifa song rules. Gets me going.
The chase scene in London is excellent.
The villain ramp car is quite possibly the GOAT Fast and Furious car. It’s super badass. The thing is flipping cars left and right. I love it.
Roman and The Rock are very funny throughout this movie, but they steal the show at the end of the movie when The Rock tells Roman to “hide that big ass forehead”. Apparently that line was improvised and Ludacris’ spit take was his real reaction to the comeback. And that makes it way better.
Humiliating the racist car salesman guy is an awesome scene. But if we are being honest with ourselves, the car salesman gets the last laugh. He is about to cash the fattest commission check. Irregardless (big word), still a great scene.
Dom and Letty’s race is solid.
Luke Evans is a good villain in comparison to some of the other villains of this franchise. Probably top 3. Statham and Elba being the other two.
The tank scene rules. That thing was just mashing cars and the people inside them. Sooo many people died on that highway.
The Rock and Vin Diesel vs Luke Evans and the big white guy is awesome. And the cherry on top is the flying headbutt by Dom, I love it.
Statham blowing up Han WAS an excellent cliffhanger. I emphasize was because they fucked it all up by bringing back Han from the dead.
Wow, that was alot of things I liked. Who cares. Gripe time.
Gina Carano STINKS. Bad actress, even worse character.
Luke Evans got real creepy with Letty in one scene and I did not like that. That scene should‘ve landed on the cutting room floor.
There is alot of technical car talk in this movie for some reason. They may as well have been speaking Cantonese. I had no idea what the fuck they were talking about. *insert meme of Michael Scott saying “now explain it to me like I’m 5”*
End of review.
