Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

This movie kicks ass. The Rock and Statham are a dream action-comedy movie combination.

The whole movie has great action. Some of my favourite action scenes are the Eteon lab scene and the slo-mo fight at the end. Great stuff.

Idris Elba is a rock solid villain with a cool ass motorcycle.

The cameos rule. Ryan Reynolds is excellent, as per usual. Air Marshall Kevin Hart and his ”can of farts” was perfect too.

The script is near perfect for a Fast and Furious movie. It‘s one one-liner after another and I loved every second of it. The writing allowed for the Rock and Statham to do what they do best, quick quips (cool word) and great action.

Side notes: tons of laughs and charisma overload. I don’t feel like putting those thoughts into real sentences. Sue me.

Now for the one glaring problem with this movie. The helicopter scene in Samoa. Holy shit was that bad. The Rock lassos a helicopter with a tow truck chain. Okay. Then they proceed to have three other cars hook on to each other by way of incredibly accurate hook throws. Okay. Then The Rock is able to single handedly able to prevent a helicopter from flying away. Give me a break. Outrageous.

It just seems like the director didn’t exactly know how to ‘land the plane’ so to speak.

Nonetheless, this movie is entertaining as shit. Must watch/rewatch for Fast and Furious fans.
