8.9/10 stinky bananas
They did it, they pulled it off. The hype around this movie was through the fucking roof, and they seemingly pleased the vast majority of people. Pretty fucking remarkable. Bravo.
Spoiler alert - all the Spider-Men are in this movie. If I just spoiled the movie for you, too fuckin bad, it's been long enough. Seeing all three live-action Spider-Men on screen together was a truly surreal movie moment - one that I will not soon forget.
Tobey Maguire dawning the blue and red spandex again after 15 years is as cool as it gets. Nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia. Inject it straight into my veins. I love it.
Andrew Garfield is the unsung hero of this movie. I think Andrew turned in an absolutely delightful performance as Spider-Man #3. More importantly, I think his success in this movie shows that the downfall of his two Spider-Man films was largely the fault of others.
No Way Home is Tom Holland's best acting performance as Spider-Man. He continues his reign as GOAT Spider-Man (or GSMOAT for short) with no end in sight.
Watching all three of them interact on screen made me very happy. I felt like a little kid watching it. Who would've thought Tobey, Tom, and Garfield on one movie screen was possible? Not me.
And we haven't even gotten to the villains.
Watching Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx reprise their roles was great to see. Sandman and Lizard were more or less irrelevant in this movie; probably a wise choice by Feige and company to keep their roles small.
Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina slipped into their old roles with ease. I wouldn't expect anything less from those two. Consummate professionals.
What a difference between movies for Jamie Foxx eh? What a crazy idea it is to just let Jamie Foxx be a cool guy and not some loser nerd with no friends.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of those movies that is meant to be seen in theatres. The theatre experience was one for the ages. BUT, I could not believe that Andrew Garfield got a bigger pop than Tobey in my theatre. There must have been a bunch of tweens in my theatre; or there were some devout Amazing Spider-Man fans in there, but that seems highly unlikely.
Highlight reel time:
Dr. Strange - Spider-Man fight is fun.
I like the 'Save the Villains' storyline (it's something a little outside the box).
Aunt May death scene (spoiler alert) hit hard. Sad!
Garfield catching MJ is an awesome scene with a huge emotional payoff (major RIP to Gwen Stacy).
Spider-Man: No Way Home is an extremely enjoyable movie. As good as the movie is, it is still overhyped by many. It is not a mind-blowing movie, but still very good nonetheless.
The third installment of the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy is a must watch for anybody that has liked Spider-Man movies at any point over the past 20 years.
